Liverpool port workers are set for another strike later this month, but there has been no further announcement regarding Felixstowe.
The Liverpool pay dispute has turned bitter during recent weeks, with both the Unite union and the port management – Peel Ports – blaming the other for the breakdown in negotiations.
The Union have now confirmed a fourth strike date for later this month, which will run from 0600hrs on 14th November, to 0600hrs on 21st November. As ever, this will mean that collections and deliveries will be severely restricted during this period.
The Felixstowe Port dispute was believed to have remained unresolved after walks outs in both August and September. However, a couple of weeks ago the port management told MP’s that the strikes were having little impact on supply chains. The Unite union then commented that the port had ‘withdrawn completely’ from negotiations.
Subsequently, there has been no further announcements of a follow up strike at Felixstowe.
