BIFA (the British International Freight Association) announced their finalists of this year’s coronavirus impacted awards, and Westbound were shortlisted in the Ocean Services Award category.
Usually, the eventual winners would be announced at a London ceremony, but with covid-19 disrupting just about everything right now, they will be confirmed by a string of videos to be released in January 2021.
Westbound Director – Danny Horne – commented “It is of course a great privilege to be recognised as a finalist by an important body like BIFA. To make one of the primary finals, as an ocean freight provider during an unprecedented year, is a testament to the excellent team of people we have at Westbound.”
“However, I do wish this could have been coupled with some good news for long suffering importers. Global ocean freight infrastructure is struggling to cope right now, especially from Asia, and our ports are in chaos as we enter the end of an extremely challenging year. As much as we would love to win the award in January, we would settle for some positive news on congestion, space and delays by then”.
