This year’s Chinese New Year falls on February 1st, which commences the annual 7 day public holiday.
As businesses close down, it’s customary to see a halt in Chinese exports during this period, which usually results in a 2/3 week lag and revised ocean freight schedules.
Below, we highlight the final departure before CNY, and the first departure after, on our main Chinese LCL import services. Of course, Covid measures may have an impact on these planned dates.
Final Departures Before CNY
Guangzhou– Close 21 Jan, Depart 4 Feb, Eta 2 Mar.
Ningbo* – No further departures planned.
Qingdao – Close 19 Jan, Depart 25 Jan, Eta 05 Mar.
Shanghai – Close 19 Jan, Depart 26 Jan, Eta 26 Feb.
Shenzhen – Close 21 Jan, Depart 4 Feb, Eta 2 Mar.
*Due to covid measures, Ningbo services are currently rerouted over Shanghai.
First Departures After CNY
Guangzhou– Close 14 Feb, Depart 3 Mar, Eta 30 Mar.
Ningbo – Close 9 Feb, Depart 16 Feb, Eta 19 Mar.
Qingdao – Close 9 Feb, Depart 15 Feb, Eta 26 Feb.
Shanghai – Close 9 Feb, Depart 15 Feb, Eta 19 Mar.
Shenzhen – Close 14 Feb, Depart 3 Mar, Eta 30 Mar.
