The ocean freight market from Asia continues to be burdened with space and equipment issues, with more price hikes coming next week. The UK’s port and container transport crisis has led to examples of carriers refusing bookings to the UK and even talks of UK ports being omitted on some vessel rotations.
Dependent on the route and service, prices are due to rise by at least $200/20-foot & $400/40-foot per container for the period November 1st-7th. The market is extremely volatile right now and rates are being reviewed on a weekly basis at the moment, so please stay in touch with our pricing team.
Through next month, the situation looks set to be affected by unprecedented late peak season demand and space is expected to remain very tight. We are endeavouring to manage the situation to the best of our ability and we will keep you advised of developments. For now, we continue to recommend building in an additional week or two lead time to current orders.
