As 2022 draws to a close, we find ourselves in a reflective mood, and so, would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our industrywide colleagues that have helped transport the goods, fill the distribution centres and stack the shelves in preparation for the festive season. All of this despite the ongoing challenges that continue to face us in the world of logistics and supply chain.
The Westbound team of modern-day elves will be working all the way up to Christmas Eve to assist Santa with his big night (and ensure there’s enough stock for those that need that last-minute panic purchase) before relaxing into the true spirit of Christmas ourselves. For the majority of people, Christmas is a magical time when giving, and sharing with loved ones, provides us with a feeling of togetherness and a glow of warmth.
Of course, Christmas can also be a difficult time for many, both at home and overseas, with the people of Ukraine deserving our special wishes this Christmas time and the knowledge that they are still very much in our prayers and thoughts.
With the appearance of snow over recent days, the odds in favour of a ‘White Christmas’ for the first time in 12 years, have been tumbling like the latest container rates from Asia. Maybe, just maybe, there ‘will’ be snow at Christmas time this year.
All that remains, is for us to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
