Demand for trailer equipment to and from Europe has spiralled to previously unseen heights as we approach the last few days before the UK’s exit from the European Union.

As many busineses scramble to get product moved before new border controls from January 1st, trying to obtain trailers is becoming increasingly difficult in both directions and similar to the issues with Asia – rates are rocketing.

At times, we are literally entering Dutch auctions to secure equipment and if we cannot confirm immediately we are sometimes losing out on the booking altogether.

In the build up to Christmas we have also been witnessing a drop off in driver availability, as foreign nationals do not want to be stranded in the UK for the Christmas period, with the same going for UK drivers in Europe.

If you have European shipments this month then we need to ask for your urgent attention when recieving pricing, as when trailers become available they are likely to be booked very quickly. The alternative is to give us a price range in advance to enable us to make immediate bookings.
