LCL Import Seafreight Supervisor

Working Hours : Monday to Friday – 08.30 to 17.30 – 1 Hour for lunchLocation: Basildon HQ Office.

Job Summary. 

Westbound Logistics Services are an award-winning leader in the freight and logistics industry, with offices in the UK, China and Europe. Our LCL department was an integral part of our formation in 2009 and continues to be an instrumental division of our business, we are looking for a motivated and experienced candidate to further develop our services alongside the team at our offices in Basildon.

As Supervisor of the LCL team you will be able to provide efficient planning, direction and coordination of the activities of the Westbound Logistics Services LCL team engaged in the movement of ocean freight for our customers.

The primary objective is to further increase the level of customer service, improve operational efficiency and increase opportunities for growth of the department.

Principal Responsibilities

Key point of contact for Westbound Logistics Services LCL customers.

Ensure all requirements are met to ensure accounts are handled appropriately according to SOP’s and customer requirements.

Responsible for forecasting resource requirements and managing the LCL teams performance.

Responsible for developing future talent to ensure future capacity requirements are met

Reviews account activity regularly to ensure proactive management of customer requirements/issues

Liaison with Westbound’s overseas offices, UK supplier network and warehouses

Liaison with senior management regarding the status of accounts via monthly operational and profit reporting.

Salary negotiable dependent on experience

FCL Sea/Air/Land Import Operator

Location: Manchester / Office Hours: Monday to Friday – 08.30 to 17.30 – 1 Hour for lunch

Job Summary. 

We are looking for an experienced FCL import operator to work within our FCL department.

  • Looking after Westbound FCL containers ex China to the UK.
  • Liaising with Westbound China offices for local China arrangements
  • Liaising with all local Uk suppliers:
  • Liaising with Customs Dept to arrange customs clearances
  • Liaising with our own and other 3rd party ERTS and general warehouses
  • Liaising with local transport companies to organise final end deliveries
  • Import customs entry experience
  • Bil of Lading Experience
  • Good telephone manner & Customer Service Skills
  • Experience with Amazon import clients would be advantageous
  • Liaising with internal accounts depts ensuring payments and client accounts are up to date prior to releasing
  • Operational experience is essential, whilst it doesn’t have to be extensive you should have working knowledge of an FCL Forwarding department

Technical skills:

  • Experience of Ocean FCL Forwarding
  • Understanding of landside logistics
  • Knowledge of the Global and UK Freight market
  • Appreciation of International Supply Chains
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding software systems, for example FCL/Multifreight/Cargowise etc
