Ocean freight schedule reliability from Asia to Europe appears to be at its lowest ebb right now, due to delays in China and Europe.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have not witnessed as many amendments to departure and arrival dates as we are seeing right now.
Departures from China are being impacted by ongoing port congestion and impromptu port or terminal closures due to Covid outbreaks, which is often preventing vessels departing for up to two weeks.
Extended transit times continue into Europe, especially for those services that are temporarily omitting direct UK calls.
European port congestion is now wreaking havoc with feeder operations. Ports such as Antwerp are now operating with four-week backlogs on transhipments.
