Dock workers at the Port of Liverpool are now set to strike for two weeks this month in a dispute over pay.

The Unite union has confirmed that the industrial action will run from 19th September to 3rd October 2022. The action follows the union’s recent balot of its Liverpool members, which returned an overwhelming vote to strike.

Unite are also the trade union that led its members to the recent eight day strike at Felixstowe, where talks have still not been settled yet.

Liverpool port management state they have offered an above average increase of 8.3%, along with improvements to sick pay, pensions and shifts, which has so far been rejected.

Liverpool remains one of the UK’s largest container ports, although the strike is most likely to impact services to and from locations West, such as North and South America.
