Thursday, 1st October marks China’s National Day, commemorating the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 and the beginning of the annual Golden Week holiday.
This year, the Golden Week holiday runs from 1st to 7th October, during which many businesses, factories and offices across mainland China will close or operate at reduced capacity.
Planning around Golden Week
Golden Week is one of the most significant dates in the Chinese calendar and an important consideration for international supply chains.
Although vessel schedules are largely operating as normal this year, some services and loading schedules are affected by the holiday. Factory closures and reduced operations can also create increased demand immediately before the break, followed by a build-up of cargo as businesses return to work.
Importers should therefore allow additional time around the holiday period and, where possible, plan shipments in advance.
Our teams in China have been working with customers and suppliers to manage shipments around the holiday and minimise disruption.
LCL consolidation schedule
Our China offices have provided the latest LCL consolidation loading schedule covering Shenzhen, Shanghai, Ningbo and Qingdao.
Services are generally operating as normal, although there are some changes around the holiday period. In particular, there will be no consolidation loading from Shenzhen or Shanghai during Week 41 due to Golden Week.
Please refer to the schedule below for the planned CFS cut-off dates, departure dates and arrival dates for our Felixstowe consolidation services.
