This week’s snow and icy road conditions have inevitably led to difficulties with collections and deliveries. However, container transport has been particularly impacted by the closure of Felixstowe Port on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday this week.
During this period, many booking slots were lost at the port, which has caused mayhem with container deliveries during this week. Unfortunately, the impact of the port closure may continue into next week as much of the backlog has not cleared yet.
Container transport operators had already been struggling to meet demand for many weeks, due to port congestion and driver shortages, and have therefore been unable to recover some of the time lost this week.
Westbound are continuing to work hard to cover all collections and deliveries and will keep customers advised of developments, should you require further information, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
