As Storm Eunice starts to batter the south of the UK, we are already witnessing the impact on logistics.
The country’s main container ports of Felixstowe, London Gateway and Southampton have already been closed, which will impact container transport over the next few days.
Not only do port closures impact the day that they are closed, but deliveries for the next few days are often disrupted due to backlogs.
Transport in general will be limited today. High vehicles, including articulated lorries, are very exposed to high winds and we can expect much disruption on the roads today, and maybe even over the weekend.
Some flights are also expected to be cancelled or rerouted today, which will undoubtedly cause delays on air freight.
As the day progresses, the Westbound team will endeavour to advise affected customers of specific problems with shipments.
However, the general message is that we can expect a few days of disruption to logistics services. In the meantime, we are monitoring progress and should you require further information, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
At Westbound Logistics we pride ourselves in offering personalised and tailored logistics solutions. To find out more please call 01375 800800 or email [email protected].
