Lockdowns have impacted China’s Zhejiang province during the past week, which has resulted in multiple factory closures throughout the region.
Covid outbreaks have led to this indefinite lockdown in the Yangtze Delta area, which includes the cities of of Ningbo, Shaoxing, and Hangzhou.
Zhejiang authorities have confirmed that the province will be subject to strict travel controls, preventing the public from traveling in and out, potentially up until March next year.
There are also heightened trucking regulations being applied, which have already resulted in low availability, high demand and increased costs for transport to and from Ningbo port.
Westbound are monitoring the situation closely, but for now this is inevitably leading to slow production and logistics disruption in the region.
