It appears that no agreement has been reached and the UK is bracing itself for another rail strike this Wednesday, 27th August.

While the UK is not as reliant as many nations on moving goods by rail freight, we do expect significant disruption to transport again this week, on the day itself and on the days that precede and follow the strike.

Container transport is one of the areas that will be most affected due to the knock-on effect of a substantially reduced rail freight service. Ports will also be under more congestion pressure as little or no rail freight containers will leave their yards for 2-3 days.

Naturally, there will be additional traffic on the road during the strike day itself, which may lead to some unexpected delays.
