Job Summary. 

Westbound Logistics Services are an award-winning leader in the freight and logistics industry, with offices in the UK, China and Europe. We are looking for a motivated and experienced candidate to join our FCL Import Team at our offices in Basildon.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has some previous working knowledge of the industry. Experience doesn’t have to be extensive, maybe just a few years in Logistics and now looking to step up into a role with more responsibility.

Main duties:

To assist in all aspects in looking after FCL full load container movements ex China, US etc to the UK
Liaising with Westbound China offices
Liaising with all local Uk suppliers:
Liaising with Customs Dept to arrange customs clearances.
Liaising with our own and other 3rd party warehouses when requires
Liaising with local transport companies to organise final end deliveries.
Import customs entry experience ideal or some knowledge would be helpful.
Bill of Lading Experience
Great telephone manner, not afraid to talk on the phone.
Ideally will have some customer service experience or had been involved in some aspects.
Liaising with internal accounts depts ensuring payments and client accounts are up to date prior to releasing cargo.
Overall import experience needed, doesn’t have to be extensive but must have basic knowledge at the worst case.

Training will be provided.

Destin8/CNS systems

Would need good knowledge of Microsoft office:
Outlook
Word
Excel

Salary : Negotiable dependent on experience
Probation: 6 month’s probation, with ongoing review at 3 months.

We provide a pleasant office environment, with a functional break out area. This includes a modern kitchen, self-service coffee machines, microwave, fridge/freezer. The breakout area also includes a TV, Pool table, ping pong table and an arcade machine. There are showering facilities on site and a recently installed gym with an array of equipment.

Following successful completion of probation the employee will be invited into a contributory pension and NHS Top up health scheme.

20 days paid holiday per year.
Following completion of first full year of employment an additional  one day per year is gained. This is capped at 25 days and excludes bank holidays.

FCL Sea/Air/Land Import Operator

Location: Manchester / Office Hours: Monday to Friday – 08.30 to 17.30 – 1 Hour for lunch

Job Summary. 

We are looking for an experienced FCL import operator to work within our FCL department.

  • Looking after Westbound FCL containers ex China to the UK.
  • Liaising with Westbound China offices for local China arrangements
  • Liaising with all local Uk suppliers:
  • Liaising with Customs Dept to arrange customs clearances
  • Liaising with our own and other 3rd party ERTS and general warehouses
  • Liaising with local transport companies to organise final end deliveries
  • Import customs entry experience
  • Bil of Lading Experience
  • Good telephone manner & Customer Service Skills
  • Experience with Amazon import clients would be advantageous
  • Liaising with internal accounts depts ensuring payments and client accounts are up to date prior to releasing
  • Operational experience is essential, whilst it doesn’t have to be extensive you should have working knowledge of an FCL Forwarding department

Technical skills:

  • Experience of Ocean FCL Forwarding
  • Understanding of landside logistics
  • Knowledge of the Global and UK Freight market
  • Appreciation of International Supply Chains
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding software systems, for example FCL/Multifreight/Cargowise etc
